Max Changmin has won the Best Rookie Award at a Japanese film awards ceremony.

According to the Japanese Academy Association on the 22nd of January, TVXQ’s Max Changmin has been chosen to win the ‘Best Rookie Award’ at the ’36th Japanese Academy Awards’ for his role in ‘Run with the Gold’ last year.

In his first movie debut, Max Changmin played the role of Momo, a North Korean bomb expert. Though he had to act in Japanese, he showcased his excellent language abilities, even talking in a specific dialect, and perfectly expressed the inner pains of Momo. The association has stated that there are enough reasons for Max Changmin to receive the Best Rookie Award.

Max Changmin made his acting debut in the drama ‘Paradise Ranch’ in 2011 and continued on to appear in ‘Athena: Goddess of War’ and ‘Run with the Gold’. He has been showing his potential as a rookie actor and has increased the anticipation surrounding his future acting career.

He has started off the year with a variety show. The first episode of KBS 2TV’s new program ‘Moonlight Prince’ aired on the 22nd, and Max Changmin plans to show off a different side of him that people haven’t seen before.
