  1. tvxq with smap and arasi. yunho ya, minnie ya, your dream came true.

  2. I’m soo happy for TVXQ XD snsnd, kara too but i feel it’s too fast for them(snsd, kara) only after two years? de promoton in japan maybe the next year

    • Kara and SNSD did really well in Japan compared to other new comers of Kpop, thus the invitation to Kouhaku eventhou they haven’t been in the Japanese music industry for too long. Can’t deny that, especially considering Kara’s really high popularity in Japan. Even Big Bang hasn’t gotten to Kouhaku so congrats to the girls. xD

Hah…How I wish JYJ can be together with Homin on Kouhaku stage…Maybe someday…*consoles myself*

      • I don’t think that’s what fany meant. Kouhaku used to be a very prestigious event (less so now), and even Japanese artists who are popular and have been around for a long time don’t get invited. Even if Kara and SNSD do better than other Kpop artists, they are in competition with the whole Japanese market, not just Korean artists in Japan.
Plus, I am pretty sure only a few members of SNSD speaks Japanese (not really their fault because they have never been stationed in Japan. They are just there for a few weeks for promotions and then they fly back to Korea). But in that way, it doesn’t seem like they really deserve to be invited to one of the most prestigious events in Japan when they don’t even speak the language.
I don’t know, something about that is just odd for me.

      • just wondering..are they really famous in japan as compared to other jpop artist?

  3. Congratulation……..

  4. Their team is soooo much better! My Korean love with my Japanese love (Arashi) – beautiful! ^^

  5. ya because of Tohoshinki and Boa that is why they are popular in japan. sorry for fan of snsd and kara this is truth. they did not suffer when they enter japan market.. No Offence

    • strongly agree!! so easy for them to get in kouhaku..! but that is their good fortune..what to do..

  6. a star studded event :)

  7. You know what’s sadder, that groups like SNSD and Kara get to perform so quickly while JYJ, who along HoMin helped paved the way for them, can’t even promote in the country. Life’s unfair indeed. :(

    • I wonder if any artist anywhere in the world has ever been so mistreated as JYJ has.

  8. Does anyone know the exact details of this TV broadcast? – TV channel, date, time, how to watch it if you don’t have it on cable.

  9. I am happy for HoMin! I am going to agree with the other that say that this was way to fast for SNSD and Kara. They don’t deserve this. They did not suffer enough they only riding on DB5K\Boa suffering and hard work that they did just to break in the Japaneses Market. Sorry Kara and SNSD fan’s.

  10. Even though it is not important, YEY Tohoshinki and L’arc~en~ciel at the same line.. oh yeah oh yeah…

  11. Are they kidding! I understand Kara was considered to attend as they can actually speak Japanese(more then other K-pop groups) and are in Japan long already but making them actually attend the show is way to early for them… and SNSD on Kouhaku is a joke! I don’t have anything against those girls but they can’t sing… I mean Japan loves artists for their singing LIVE (which means vocal abilities not like in Korea) and SNSD can’t do that sorry… they have like 2-3 very good vocals but the rest… It’s the same way with SuJu… I also don’t have anything against them but vocally they are nothing remarkable… they have like 2-3 good voices like SNSD and that’s all… those groups have so many members and they are considered singers but truthfully only few of them can actually sing live… Fans should stop making excuses for their idols. Being able to sing is different from being good at singing… or maybe it’s just me and my high expectations.. You know as a Cass of 4 years I am used to exceptional vocals and those five voices live sound even better then in CD…

Also You can be in Dome and Kouhaku but you can never earn the same respect people have for Tohoshinki. If you noticed, recent K-pop groups in Japan got criticized not only because of their music, but also their attitude towards Japanese culture. I am proud of Yunho/Changmin from 東方神起 as I am of JYJ from 東方神起 because they are REALLY RESPECTED as artists wherever they go. Their achievements are only ignored in their homeland which is ironic really… and I will probably be always bitter about it…

    • *kiss*
thank you for saying it out loud >3<

    • Ditto ^^ Amen.

    • i very agree with you ^^

    • i agree with ur second parag. there are many japanese industry pple voicing their dislike against kpop groups who are jumping into japan suddenly using the whole Hallyu wave without actually giving respect to the country they are promoting in.

i fear that the more this continues, the harder it will be in the future for kpop artists to debut in japan

    • oh dear….can I hug u????

    • tbh, the fact that SNSD and KARA have been invited is like a slap in the face for many jpop artists. =\

  12. Anybody else feeling like SM is putting more pressure on the Japanese companies to showcase SNSD? I mean, to be real here guys SNSD does not deserve to be at Kouhaku Uta Gassen. They have released like what 2 full Japanese albums? How many has TVXQ?

On a side note… NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen was the last preformance of TVXQ’s Stand by You before the break. AKTF Remember.

    • are you that BIAS? how come SM putting pressure for SNSD to appear on kouhaku? ckck, if that so, then why shinee cant appear too?
why toho have to wait years befe they appear?

fyi, SNSD’s debut album has sold more than 600k. and still chart, up to this date.
even toho albums, except for the best of album, havent surpass that yet.

i also feel that snsd isnt suppose to appear yet, the reason? they cant speak japanese, only a pinch of this and that. so, they should practice more, release more singles/albums, then they could.

but NHK already make the list, they already consider them worthy, who are us to say who can appear or not?

      please use your brain first

    • as much as we would all love to put SM as the punching bag for everything horrible and evil in the world, there is absolutely no way SM has any influence on this event. if they did then u would be seeing SHinee and SUJU on the list too.

Japan has the SECOND LARGEST music industry in the world after America. Korea’s music industry and all the record companies it holds dont even hold a candle near Japan’s gigantic music industry, let alone have an influence on such events.

SM is nothing but a tiny drop in the sea of Japan’s music industry. no one in japan, not even the biggest companies would dare try to influence decisions made on such events because they knw of the huge trouble they would get into especially with other major competing companies.

the reason SNSD and KARA will be there is because they were invited by the organizers themselves. is it a good decision? imo No. i like SNSd but i actually think this will bite them in the end because it will certainly get the tongues of the music critics wagging at such decision. its way too early for the girls especially SNSD since this was only their debut and they havent yet proved that they have the longevity needed to be seriously respected in that environment. they need to release more material and learn more about the culture in japan (or at least the freakin language) so that they would be able to gain the respect of the audience and the music industry alike.

      • that’s why SM make some-kind of partnership with Johnny. Because they need the power of Johnny..
While Johnny is being too kind, because Japanese artists are not accepted in Korea, by not letting his artists go out from Japan to promote.
SM is meanwhile pushing their artists into Japan..

  13. i agree wit u.boa and tvxq are the one that open the market in japan for korean music.especialy after tvxq concert in dome

  14. i kin of understand why kara was invited but idk i feel like snsd shouldn’t be in it. sorry i feel like they barely promoted there and actually learn the language. i mean maybe only two of their members can actually speak the language but that’s out of 9 so its sad. I know they’ve been having concerts and stuff but you barely even see them on japanese shows than kara (whom been promoting a whole lot since debut.) They should of invited BoA in my opinion.

  15. =”= I feel like Kara and SNSD had it so much easier than TH5K…..

but glad to see Yunho and Changmin treated like classic favorite J-pop stars. TH5K will always be the first group to break through in Japan :) <3
