TVXQ‘s Japanese album, “Tone“, has reached first place on a Taiwanese album chart!
On October 24th, MTV Taiwan reported, “TVXQ’s ‘Tone’ has exceeded 240,000 units in sales, coming in at the top for the week of October 15th through the 22nd.”
They continued, “The album was released in red, blue, and yellow cover versions with six images that fit to each concept. The three albums combined form the phrase, ‘It’s my way’. Their latest song brought together TVXQ’s powerful performance style and vocal skills.”
In related news, TVXQ also released a special photobook titled “Sun” from their Spain photoshoot. The boys will soon be preparing for their nationwide tour in Japan, scheduled for the beginning of next year.

240k the amount of albums sold in Taiwan only? Are you serious? O____o that means 500k as a whole. Is there a legitimate chart for this report? I’m sorry, I just don’t want to spazz over something not legit T____T

on a side note, the sales are just amazing!! to be able to sell 240K in one week with literally zero promotion in Taiwan alone is out of this world!
so far their total for Tone is 500,000+
also i just found out that Tone has re-entered the japanese top 10 daily oricon chart once again. it really shows that their sales are going at a very consistent level and its wont be long before they surpass the secret code records too! so proud of them

i dont want them to be like some other idol who said sold xxx numbers of copy yet it’s cant be proof-able!

The number is real. This officialy reported from MTV Taiwan not SM or TVXQ it self…Beside they compare with album sales another artist, so MTV Taiwan must have a real data for that before reporting it…

like sanny said those were reported by mtv which is probably the most legitimate source of music info out there. if it was by sm or avex then yea they could have played with the numbers but mtv is a world wide known source of reliable music info and have first hand info from reliable charts and sources. its definitely the most legitimate source of info.
also TVXQ and other kpop bands have always charted in countries like Taiwan but the media doesnt report on them becuz the sales are not that significant usually.
HOWEVER, there is a lot of hype this time around in korea about this news because the sales are so extremely high for this news with the industry labeling it as breakthough because its something that rarely happens with kpop artists especially when the album had literally no promotion in Taiwan to support it

sorry to burst everyone is bubble, but this not true, it didnt sell 240k! This is so misinterpreted by korean news. It is said that tone is #1 in Taiwan charts and it already sold 240k so far in Japan! Not Taiwan!! (Also taiwan has much significantly smaller music industry, 240k in 1 week is just impossible)

I dont think soo. Because if toward japan sales in date 15 oct-22 oct, Tone in Japan not sales 240 copies, but like 10.000 copies and total 270 more copies since 28 november. You can see in ctvq, they acoount slaes on orichon properly since tone released in japan

IIf you watch the video they said it charted #1 in the J/Kpop chart (of taiwan) in the week oct 15-22 and that it sold 240k thus far in Japan. I know they have sold 270k so far, but they probably used accumulated sales for the first two weeks or so. Also if you know anything about the taiwan music industry, then it is 100% not possible! The music industry over here is much smaller than the Japanese market and even smaller than the Korean market. Popular artists sell around 100-150k in total album sales! 240k in 1 week is just impossible!

i read on our local magazine that Jyj sold 1million copies of ‘in heaven’ in just a week time. i nearly burst out laughing. their new company really ‘knows’ how to hype things out eh. Tvxq sales sounds more legit but 250,000 in a week in taiwan is impossible but Tone definitely does better than the album of jyj.
