On the June 27th SM Town special episode of MBC’s ‘Come To Play‘, the artists revealed which members of the company were the top trainees back in the day.
The three members chosen were DBSK’s Changmin and Super Junior members Choi Siwon and Shindong.
Leeteuk explained, “When top quality trainees first join the company, all the other trainees hear rumors about them and start to feel a sense of rivalry. Back in the day, the top three trainees were Changmin, Siwon, and Shindong.”
“Changmin garnered a lot of attention because he was a straight A student and looked a lot like our senior, Kangta. Siwon was also famous because of his good looks.”
“As for Shindong, we all assumed he’d have explosive vocals to sort of make up for the way he looks,” stirring laughter amongst the audience.
Shindong later added that the company has prohibited him from standing in the middle, on the off chance that his rotund figure could create the illusion that the other members were round as well.

I kinda bet that if the lawsuit isnt in the way, they would have mentioned jaejoong and junsu too. cuz the trainers had mentioned that their best students are these two.

yea, especially Junsu. Didn’t kangta personally vouch for him or something? I remember a video of Kangta teaching Junsu Eunhyuk and Sungmin, and he paid extra attention to Junsu..
I’m sure all the guys were the top trainees, isn’t the system there like that? only the top trainees get to debut early?

by the top trainess they mena the trainees who entered new to the company, so junsu couldn’t be one of them since he’s been in the company for a long time, buhhh i dunno about jaejoong

lawsuit aside I think it would be Junsu and Jaejoong for voice… their teachers before already complimented both of them in singing… the teacher said they are the best so far of whom he thought… plus jaejoong was best voice and best look…
Looks would be jaejoong and siwon…
Dance probably really is shindong… but I bet Yunho has some talents likes shindong… I wonder why leaders-shi is not mentioned…
