if you look at the current situation of Korean music industry, the sales are good tbh, Big Bang also used to sell around 300k for their minialbum, so it’s not very surprising

blame the boycotters :/
By: humhum on April 28, 2011

jyj sales aren’t much different from homin you know, so if you wanna say blame the boycott, it goes both ways.
anyway i personally felt that it’s really good seeing that the current physically sales in korea is nearly dead. even full growing groups like big bang, snsd etc doesn’t sale all that much.

i think the sales is coming from the new cassiopeia.
the old cassiopeia(or ex?) boycott them, it’s for sure.

@lola Obviously, not all old cassies are boycotting Homin.I believe the total sales number mostly comes from the old cassie
By: CarlaYoochun on April 28, 2011

The sales of 1st & 2nd month didn’t exceed 90K which is in line with the fact that majority of old k.cassies (I assume at least 80%) turned away from supporting Homin. Normally, active sales of CD stops after 1 or 2 months, so it is surprising that they sold even more(110K) during 3rd and 4th month. Only explanation might be that a lot of new fans joined as a result of unprecedentedly massive promotion through mass media. To be honest, I can’t stop wondering if Homin’s account would not become minus after subtracting promotional cost.

Humm … looking at the article more carefully, the sales number is 230K for the first 3 months, which is amazing b/c it means that they sold 140K in the 3rd months but only 90K for the 1st and 2nd month.
I stopped following info. from Homin site after the first 2 month, so can’t say what really happened on the 3rd month…. something unusual, I guess.

i think they not really that care about the profit now.
maybe, SM did their very best to promote TVXQ as 2 members group, so this is like debut all over again.
i guess there’ll be a new album later this year..
and that’ll be the one to cover up for this album.
well, that’s my guess..haha

Not really, those numbers are very consistent with their previous album sales before Mirotic (the only DBSK album that have sold 500,000 and that not even JYJ could reach it in their peak of popularity)
Those nearly 300,000 sales plus 283,000 for the japanese version are an amazing achievement for the boys because they had all the odds against them, coming back after 1.5 years of absence, being the less popular DBSK members, singing under the DBSK name, having a very controversial song as their main single but above all, having more than half of a fandom boycotting them or not caring about them at all.
This is a labor of love from Yunho and Changmin personal fans and Bigeast, nobody else.

That’s the pre-orders. And pre-orders =/= ACTUAL sales.
Plus, most of the sales of “Music Essay” are categorized as “Book”, so most of the sales aren’t reflected on music chart.

All the boys (5) did well so far. Wish some are ppls are mature enough to congratulate Homin for their hard work. A wonderful 4 months promotion and it shows. i guess only “true” TVXQ fans will be happy (w/out bashing) for all five no matter what paths/endeavors that choose.
Let’s drop all the hatred, bashing, and saddness. There’s still 2 more quarters for 2011, let’s join cooperative in supporting the boys to a happier year-end together!
Once again congratulations Homin! ^__^
TVXQ & JYJ Fighting! Let’s see all 5 on stage at year end awards!! *crossing fingers*
