Despite the freezing cold, about 70,000 fans flocked to the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul on Nov. 27 and 28 to watch the first concert of trio JYJ, composed of Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and Youngwoong Jaejoong.

The JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul was a follow-up to the trio’s successful JYJ worldwide album showcase that took them to New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas in North America; and to Asian cities Taipei, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

Under the direction of choreographer and artistic director Jeri Slaughter, the Seoul concert saw JYJ performing songs from their first English album, “The Beginning,” including “Ayyy Girl” and “Be My Girl.”

The trio also offered their condolences to the victims of North Korea’s artillery attack on Yeonpyeong island in South Korea where four people were killed.

The stadium was originally planned to be covered to protect the fans from the cold weather. However, hail fell on the morning of the concert, prompting the concert organizer to remove the roof structure to prevent any accident.

During the concert, JYJ announced that they will be having a worldwide concert tour that may take the trio again to different cities.

The trio was overwhelmed by the fans’ support and thanked them for coming to the concert.

“Thanks to all the fans who attended today’s concert. Thank you so much, I was so moved when you all shouted out that you love us,” according to Jaejoong’s tweet, which was translated by fan site tohosomnia.net.

Jaejoong added, “All the challenges and situations we’re experiencing right now are so unfamiliar and tiring, and they wear me out. But there is one thing that isn’t unfamiliar. The people in front of my eyes who still love us.”

  1. 70k fans! wow!!
JYJ really did their best to the fans… we still love you guys…
    GO JYJ~!!!

  2. Was it so hard for the other journalist to be just as openminded? I mean, this is what realy happened. Unplanned hail happened, damages followed, and JYJ still did their best with the performances. Even if they had a back-up plan, how much time did they have to put that plan in action? Under that situation, they did the best they could, so for those people who are complaining against CJes and what not, quit it. [FYI: Just in case YOU don't know; CJes is probably the only management that will take on the boys, so stop trying to push them away. Even TV stations don't want to support our boys except KBS2. So next time you come around bombarding CJess with insults and suggesting the boys abondon them, you better also suggest the company that isn't in SME's pocket that will sign on the boys ASAP].
And for those fans who supported the boys despite the freezing cold, “you are one of a kind”, “you are awesome!”.

    • exactly! this article is so much better than the other one, who kept on complaining about how cold it was and how JYJ weren’t “prepared” -_-

    • My thoughts exactly.

And about the CJeS thing .. yeah, I agree that their management isn’t the greatest and i’m sure the boys know that too .. but as you said, they’re the only ones willing to help out the boys and we should be greatful for that … bitching about them wont do any good…

    • I was thinking the exact same thing! Excuse my language but shit happens let it go! It was freezing cold and JJ fell in a hole again but they still gave us their best so I see nothing to complian about.

  3. See, that’s the power of JYJ maybe another group so envy with JYJ, this why SM and avex didn’t want to let JYJ go, cuz they fanbase really huge and so royal to JYJ, and JYJ can make sand became gold

  4. so proud of you guys..
70k ppls without promotion (except on twitter) and dont have many sponsors but the concert is still awesome!!

thank you so much for cassie, I-cassie, BigEast an other ppls who came to their concert..*bow*
I love this boys and this fandom more and more

  5. wuow,.. 70t?

    *speechless*
    congrats boys
    it’s cassie’s love <3

  6. <3 we ALWAYS love u babe <3

    thx for sharing dear!!

  7. This news is from Manila Bulletin (Philippine newspaper, written by a Filipino entertainment journalist…so a Filipino writer has a better view of the scenario of JYJ,s concert than a Korean writer who didn’t even get the aprrox. number of concert viewers (from the Korean Times news, the concert had only 30,000+ audience)
It’s too frustrating to think that some journalists nowadays forget their professionalism in exchange of some hidden agenda, maybe that korean writer from the previous article is expecting a huge christmas package from someone so influential…and i think all the negative news about the concert are part of some “demolition package” to think that JYJ announced to have a world tour so as much as possible they will try to discredit JYJ ..poor boys…this is the very high price of your freedom but anyway “NOBODY CAN PUT A GOOD MAN DOWN”

  8. 70K!!!OH YEAHHH!!
The Boys and Cassies are really one of a kind <33
    PROUD OF YOUR LOVE!
    FIGHTING!

  9. It really strange that the foreign journalists are kinder to JYJ than their own country men. I am really astound how the Korean media treated JYJ. They should be proud of JYJ because of this concert Korean had attracted 20,000 tourists which brought the money into the country and so on. Can some1 please knock this into the Korean media? Gosh they need to be told or what!!

    • is it bcoz debut fully english album or pressured by sm?

  10. Some entertainments in Korea are jealous that JYJ can get all the attention without doing any promotions in their own countries but JYJ get everything… chart…Royal fans. Idk why journalists write bad things about them, maybe they are afraid that those entertainments will hate the journalists if they write good things about JYJ I guess… Bad press or what, I got your back JYJ! Foreign countries have got eyes on JYJ.. so Yippie!! Korea media is booooo

  11. Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu – there are people who were not at any of your global showcases (for whatever reasons) who love and support JYJ also. So, please continue to look to the stars and know that you are not alone.

    JYJ FOREVER!!!!!
    DBSK FOREVER!!!!!
    HoMin FOREVER!!!!!

    • DBSK_FAN FOREVER!!! :) SO CUTE, U…

  12. there are some things which can’t be avoided like the sudden problem during the concert but for sure the fans understood and will continue to support JYJ!!

JYJ fighting!! Hope you’ll visit the Philippines soon!

  13. Great! I’m glad their Asian promotions are successfully wrapped up. Looks like they’ll be getting a well-deserved rest before preparing for US promotions next month then really diving into the American market Jan 2011. I can’t wait! I really wish them the best of luck. This group has really grown on me. I’m really looking forward to see what impact they make in the West.

    • TT.TT the court proceedings will be on 7th? TT.TT
yeah but still enough time to rest..
will they go again to US for Empty MV?

Now that the asian promotions are wrapped up, it really doesn’t look that bad, does it?

I am a fan since the DBSK days, but JYJ has really grown on me, too. Still quite surprised that they can produce good quality music like that pretty much on their own.

      • Yeah, the court proceedings are on the 7th but most likely it’ll just be a CONTINUATION of the last session (hearing the other side, bringing in witnesses, etc.). I doubt there’ll be any major decision made by then. Remember, the court has hearings for the current lawsuit AND the double-contract injunction to sift/sit through. It’s gonna be a while, I’m pretty sure. To be honest, what worries me more than the court case is Korea’s political situation… the biggest thing that can screw up the boys’ plans right now is an escalation of the North-South tension…>..<

But bar that, they said in the concert interview that they will be heading over to the US Jan 2011 to promote The Beginning. Seeing as they're looking to go to the US in December (if they're not called to court) anyways to film Empty, they might as well stay there until January. It'll help them A LOT in familiarising themselves to the (American) English language.

Either way, they have a couple of weeks to wind-down in Korea. I'm hoping the only activity they'll be doing during this time is recording their newly composed songs in English. I'm really anticipating America's response to Pierrot and Mission. I think Europe will respond well to IDS. Personally, I think with some tweaks (and a complete rewrite of the '5-minute' English rap), these songs could be big hits ^^.

  14. Congrats for JYJ. Wish them all the best in life

  15. Congratulations on your first concert JYJ <3
