Ayy Girl still sounds kinda “ehhh” to me. The live performance sounds a million times better. Why don’t they ever promote my favorite from the album? It has always been like this even with DBSK lol.
Hum…IMO, I think this MV will only work out to Asian audience. I just hope they’ll make a different MV for the US audience, more stronger and manly image. Because if they use this MV, it’ll disadvantage their image to the new US audience. This MV shows more of their feminine side, esp with Su’s costume…it just doesn’t work…
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love JYJ. But this is just my 2 cents XDD
You can agree or disagree with my thoughts ^___^
i agree…. i love su n his sexy bak lol i love his outfit but it wont cut in the US. n what did they do to yoochun >.< his vampire looks is ok but i hope those red lips are from the poor quality lightening. sighh.
but then again if thier mv n concept fitted in with any other american artist ppl will just dismissed them right. being different will make them stand out n ppl will recognize them.
haha i hope it’s not lipstick. they don’t need it anyway, lips are luscious enough already =)
By: iraaa on October 31, 2010 at 3:56 am
My thought exactly.
Hell yessss! – says the fangirl in me.
Hell noooo! – will say the American public in general…
Junsu wearing his halter top, Yoochun with his hair and make up looking like a girl… *facepalm* The weakest song from the album paired with a PV with bad concepts… *groans*
Agree and disagree ^^
We don’t know the strategy of JYJ in the USA.
-Are they really going to start a career there? Remember what Jae Chong said, this is an Asian project. So we still don’t know if they really want to start a new life in Europe and USA.
-Then, yes the MV is so not American, but JYJ are Asian. They have the choice between a: doing like Americans and probably being bashed by Asians for changing their image and by Americans who will laughed at them for trying so hard to not look Asians anymore. b: assuming their difference and making their business thanks to this, sure they will be bashed by racists and closed-minded people but they already went through this in Japan
-About the MV concept, I’m not shocked because this is kind of supernatural and we all know the success of twilight. Rihanna and Beyonce also broke rnb rules with dark concept for her MVs. The concept is definitely a good and smart one.
-I think that a lot of fans lost confidence after reading comments on Yahoo, just don’t forget that they have Kanye West, Malik Yussef and Rodney Jerkins by their side, JYJ are not amateurs but they will always have haters, forget about those close-minded people and remember that The Beginning is a good quality album and everyone can listen to it, so let’s cheer and promote!! ^^
*sighs* Yeah, you’re right. That’s why I love this place. When I get worked up and go %GD@˘!WTF!!! there’s always somebody here who’s calm and with intelligent comments gives me the push I need to start to see things differently. Thanks, I needed this.
By: vik720 on October 31, 2010 at 4:38 am
Your comment gave me new perspectives. I like the MV…….what I don’t like is
Chunnie’s lipstick
Su’s halter top
ANd the fact that you can’t see JJ’s eyes in most of it……
By: pheonixia on October 31, 2010 at 4:40 am
^^You cant see JJ’s eyes bcoz its so LQ.lol~
I love Su’s halter top. I watched him live w/ that outfit so nobody can change my mind. Everyone will always have their personal preference and the majority doesnt necessarily means always right.XD~
I think they made Chun looks like vampire since its too popular nowadays.XD~
I agree, we still aren’t completely sure of their strategy in the US, and this is an Asian project. I’m still not convinced their going to totally enter the US market, sure they’ll do some promo and have showcases but they still seem focused on Asia more than anything
By: maddy on October 31, 2010 at 4:46 am
@Stevie: I loved Chunnie’s gothic vampire look. He’s the one I loved the most in this video. I will wait for a HQ version so i can see Jae’s eyes O__O
By: pheonixia on October 31, 2010 at 4:56 am
I love your comment… Yahoo did get me really discouraged… but I expected that to happen… JYJ will have their haters… but they will ALWAYS have Cass on their side… but I’m american, and I really don’t want to be lumped in with all the hate and judged by their other fans just because I live in a land of impudence and ethnocentrism… seriously… so it enrages me at the hate left for JYJ… not to mention if they SEE it… I mean, we ALL know they’re grown men, but it still has to strike them somehow… I think American Cass should find some way to show their support as a whole, and show JYJ that America isn’t made up of all horrible people…

By: noriihana on October 31, 2010 at 7:46 am
Kenoa, thank you for bringing a new perspective and I thoroughly agree with you. Especially with what happened in Japan, they did all those typical J-pop-ish songs for years receiving mediocre response, yet their first real breakthrough was Purple Line- a very Korean number that showcased their skills and charisma so well! With Purple Line, they finally started to receive more attention, and people began to realize what a talented group they have there. The boys can sing well in almost any genre you can think of, but when you enter a new market (if it is indeed their goal to enter a new market), it’s more important to attract attention first. Of course, attracting attention in a way this new audience appreciates is much more desirable, but with all the revival of interest in things supernatural and gothic thanks to the popularity of Twilight Saga etc, I am not sure if we really have to give a damn to what the backward rednecks who trolled that Yahoo article page think =D
By: Starfield on October 31, 2010 at 9:32 am
Agreed. Hope they do a story version instead of a dance version. But is their US album not going to be different from the Asian one anyways…..
since they are still discussing with Warner USA about adding more songs. And I think they tweeked the original songs a bit too……
But I am not sure.
I hope it does get changed. I want my boys to be happy when they come to west so that they will also return in the future!

“more stronger and manly image”: I see a lot of power in this MV, they look strong. If by “manly” you means having 10 girls half naked around them, then I’d disagree. And if they do that, I’ll probably change fandom! XXXD
I would have love to see women in the video especially being that its a song called ayy girl, however even if they have girls I doesnt mean we have to see bumping and grinding, it can be done tastefully.
By: aj on October 31, 2010 at 6:10 am
Having 10 girls half naked around you doesn’t always equate to being “manly”. The song is called Ayy Girl and it would make sense to have a girl somewhere in the video. She doesn’t have to be nude or shaking her goodies every 5 seconds, it can be done in a classy way ;_;.
I groaned throughout the entire MV. The MV itself looks really cool, I mean..I’m not to sure on the concept but it’s really cool to me. My number one problem is Junsu halter top. HATE IT!!!!!! Americans are going to think it’s sooo gay – and can we blame them? Not to mention that all the guys are wearing makeup, which is really unnecessary, plus their hair is well coiffed….there are too many little things for them to nitpick on and frankly, I so worried for them because America is unforgiving T_T
Chunnie looks really pretty and I dunno if that can be helped, but the eye makeup only made things worse. here in the west- not only america- it’s very VERY important for men to project an alpha male image. Anything less is a sissy and I’m afraid after watching this video, they’ll see them as…well, not manly. Girls may become intrigued by them, but the guys will stay far…..
LMAO!! Calm down, whoooosahhh. I will say yes there is a emphasis on masculinity here but not all Americans will think they are gay. I agree all the makeup is unecessary whether they are in Asia or America I just dont think they need all that. But I cant stand that halter top I dont know why they let him wear that or for all we know he picked it himself. Junsu please no more halters lol.
I absolutely agree with you. I was so shocked after seeing the MV… specially because I didn’t even thought that they would actually use the white outfit of Junsu! Oh dear~~ -_-
Also, I don’t like them either with strong make up, that only makes them less manlish and I think that they are already handsome without it.
And third, I wonder if even knowing that US or european people does like manly men or boys they went to that concept. I just think that they won’t like it and will criticize them (;_;) And I don’t want that to happen!
I wish there could be a MV for Empty, and this time I want it well made!
Yeah I hope they just targeted Asia and just sweep brief though US with the show case…cause it’s not a strong enough impact..don’t want them to waste their effort. maybe next time.
I seriously thought N’Sync rip-off when I watched it. It is decent…..but it has been done before so………….
But overall I like it. Besides the fact that Chunnie is wearing lipstick. Su is wearing the halter top. And you can’t always see JJ’s beautiful eyes…..

I still don’t like Ayy Girl and this video looks.. eeeehhh. I don’t really like the ~mystical~ setting. It looks rather low budget? I’m having Eat You Up flashbacks.. ~_~
The dancing looks nice though and the guys are looking fineee.
Hopefully i’m wrong since this is really LQ ;_;. Prove me wrong!
I don’t like it. I don’t like the concept. It’s such a typical asian MV. Reminds me of Boa’s eat you up dessert version in comparison to her first one. There’s no story… I’m slightly dissappointed.
JYJ doesn’t deserve the hate comments from ignorant racist people. They don’t. They deserve much better. And I though since this project is worldwide, they would at least do something more… ‘meaningful.’
they are typical asian..but for me, i prefer to believe that the beginning is for international fan rather that to swipe off entire US or europe,if they do plan so..its still the beginning~
Why the hell can’t they consult with some people about the concept if they want to go into unknown territory? And US market is just that. It would be better if they do a PV just in casual clothes. Jeans, leather jacket, you know. Just being themselves.
Hell, they don’t even need to consult with anybody, just go on youtube and watch some vids. It’s even free, youtube doesn’t ask consultation fee… It’s really budget-friendly LOL.
No, you’re right. It was my first reaction because I think I’m worried about them. I needed to calm down a little from the first shock, LOL
(But I still think it wouldn’t hurt to tone it down just a little bit. XD)
By: vik720 on October 31, 2010 at 4:43 am
It seems everyone is worried bcoz of how US viewers will think of the boys.
I really do prefer they promote Empty or Be my Girl.
I like this PV for the hotness~XDDD There’s my bias, Junsu w/ his halter top.
They should have just hired someone that knows about the American industry to direct this MV. Heck, they could have hired Cassies and i’m pretty sure we would have done a better job and we would be willing to work for a small fee too~ (Give me Jaejoong and i’ll do it for free). ;___;
Relax dear ^^
You still don’t know how the American audience will respond about it.
I’m not a big fan of the Setting either, but they’re trying to present a new thing.
Let’s wait for the HQ and then we’ll decide upon it…kay ^.^
*gives you JYJ chocolate to cooldown* xD
Oh i’m not mad XD.
I’m just disappointed at the lack of a plotline plus the MV looks cheap(hopefully it’s just the LQness of this fancam). I don’t mind that they’re trying to bring something new to the American Industry but this wasn’t what I was expecting I guess? But since their main target is their Asian fans living here in the States then this video is alright. I’ll wait until the HQ version comes out then i’ll fully critique it. ^_^
<333 Thank you~ I wanna give these chocolates to Su, he seems pretty down ;_;

Junsu writes lyrics and reminisces of the past…
(Junsu) Just now.. In my hotel room.. I wrote the lyrics for the first song we will perform at the concert.. I don’t know why I was suddenly flooded by memories of the past.. (3:18am KST)
(Junsu) Tonight, I will fall asleep, cherishing these sad memories… (3:19am KST)
Junsu’s gonna make us all cry at the concert (this is actually getting legit depressing)
(Junsu) What I’m feeling right now.. On that day, inside that concert venue ……. I’ll let you hear it (3:28am KST)
(Junsu) The feelings that I have right now, at this moment …… at 2010.10.31 2:29am (3:29am KST)
His tweets…. ;_______;
By: alwayssmile on October 31, 2010 at 4:57 am
At least he is going to express it in the way he can best…through his songs
We’re going to be with you always Junchun…we’re going to listen to your heart and sing with you ;_;
*feeds Junchun chocolate*

Yeah, I have a feeling this concert is going to be Tokyo Dome 2.0 ;___;
I can’t wait to listen to them singing their new and self-written songs. If I wasn’t such a chicken I would tweet words of encouragement and comfort to him XD.
Lets feed him kitty-shaped chocolates ;D
By: alwayssmile on October 31, 2010 at 5:14 am
owh junsu please dont be sad…
we surely will always support you..you can count on us okay baby
(Junsu) Just now.. In my hotel room.. I wrote the lyrics for the first song we will perform at the concert.. I don’t know why I was suddenly flooded by memories of the past.. (3:18am KST)
~~i wonder here what concert did junsu refer to~~~
I dont get why people are so freaked out about what americans’ll think…they have lady gaga, Adam Lambert, Tokyo hotel’ lead vocal and alot more artists with more strange/feminine looks…LOL…
Imagine them with casual clothes will be boring..at least they will atract more attention with this MV..of course haters too..but it doesn’t matter what they do they still will be receiving criticism just for being asians.
I am satisfied with this MV and I’m glad JYJ will bring something different and refreshing to american audience…for me they don’t need to look americans.
IA~ US had been exposed to the glam era. HeLLoo!!! Even that Black Sabbath dude(Osbourne) was once androgynous looking. Im not from the US but I grew up listening to Motley Crue. Do some of you only listened once to Nsync or Backstreet boys? lol~
People will still bash them whatever they do anyway. Instead of trying to fit in, why not do it their way.
nods3…agree
whatever they do..they surely will get critics..so guys just relax and wait what the feedback jyj will get..dont panic, think positive and enjoy the MV~~~^^
I dont consider Tokio Hotel rockers, they just play instruments(no offence~XD). It depends on how people perceive these acts. Tokio Hotel lead actually looks so effeminate to me, he could be gay IMO. AFAIK, hardcore rock fans consider them as bunch of sissies. But I didnt see them changing their style to what fits in the US music scene. Its what they do not only onstage but their lifestyle~ who would actually think Osbourne looks like a girl? Nikki Sixx? Despite putting all those make-up once? These guys once live w/ sex and booze. Groupies surrounding them every gigs and concert tours. They talked of fvcking a girl in an interview etcs… This glam thing in music has been long dead when grunge music started reigning during the 90′s(it died too anyway~XD) but Adam Lambert simply do what he wants.
JYJ are bunch of pretty boys to begin w/. They’ll have bashers however they’ll do their stuffs in the US. Looking at some comments in that Yahoo news, they just heard one song and some think they simply svck. That pretty much said it all to me.
I agree with you “la”, rockstars have a concept of looking weird cuz their music skills cover up their hideous appearances. Hell, they even wear teddies in their concerts. If JYJ had been playing electric guitars, or drums, few would’ve paid much attention to their halter tops or make-up. lol
While “Stevie” is right as well. JYJ is a boyband, that too an “Asian” boyband, they’ll always be bashed around no matter what they wear.
However. the boys should’ve chosen their costumes by themselves, their dressing in this MV is downright dreadful even for their own standards=/ Plus, I’m sorry to say but Ayy Girl is not a song worth promoting, Kanye’s rap was alright, but the boys didn’t do good at all, too much autotune, notes were all haphazard and the song didn’t have a flow.=/ JYJ is capable of doing wonders, I hope the world doesn’t judge them through this single…=(
By: xavi on October 31, 2010 at 4:45 pm
I liked mv because they dont try be like all the usa boyband or music.
They did something different !!!
HOTNESS from JYJ
ps : they said that wanted to reach their global fans NOT to debut in USA
I like the MV so far.
JYJ are JYJ. why must they change onto ordinary US artist??!!
If people want to love them, then love them the way they are.
this is JYJ’s beginning. they must be ready for up and down kind of reaction. and i will always support them, that’s my faith.
^i think its awesome..i really like it a lot..i love the concept..& the choreography..and i also like the video setting..its one of my three favourite songs on the album..i love it..Thank you for sharing ^_^
that’s what i thought as well. I watch first b4 reading the comments and LOVE IT A LOT. I find it unique. American like different and new things right. SO this is it. Try taste the Asian music. Why not. They will hate if they dont like it and they will love it if they like it. JYJ just being themselves and I like that. That’s identity and they didnt lost it. That’s the thing that makes all of us fans falls head over heels to them am i right?
^i completely agree..it does offer a unique take..that would bring about something refreshing and set them apart..whilst not loosing sight of the identity the fans are most familiar with.. i think they will garner a lot of interest for being different and new..yet whilst there will always be that double sided perspective..of those who voice a positive or negative reaction..there will also be those who will take a keen and genuine interest..in broadening their musical listening’s..
By: aikawaii on October 31, 2010 at 10:28 pm
Ohh ,,ohh ,, relax all , at least not like balloon mv xD ,
The vid. is good , different & still in LQ , dont judge & keep support them : )
I just hope one thing , not to interfere with the new viewers of them , haters or others who show interest ,, lol , let the other audience discover them , just like us before , we will c lot opinions , its so normal ,, let it be , how it will be ,,xD
Im not worry , its their challenge , to international market , made it or not , the attention will be ,, im sure , they will stay or not??!! , idk ?~ , but all i know , The Beginning , is really good album , this im sure of it : )
i am relieved that it isnt a typical hip hop video with girls in hot bands sliding on poles or in hot tubs.
i think they are doing things their own way
IKR…i was worried about that too..at least its better that those kinda mv that makes me runaway n turn to kpop n jpop…love jyj n dbsk….we need to supprt them…it’s now in which they need us the most…
I am loving it…i would hate it 4 my boyz to change to cater to haters…pple who change who they are to fit in, never good cos they’ll get criticised for dat neway…I say this album reaches out to the language barrier dat their international fans finds a bit difficult when understanding the lyrics
With this new album I understand evry single wrd n luv it……..If they gain new fans, gr8 bt all their fans rite nw will always support them….
AND if they decide to come to London, Im so there even if i have to miss a lecture or two….Luv my humble n handsome boyz……I would faint if i even meet one of them….jealous of u asian fans!
Why is everyone so negative? Were killing them before they even get here. I want them to stay true to themselves not become generic for America, thats not got them 500,000 plus fans.
I absolutely love this PV!!!!
What’s will all the worries? America is not the center of the world.
I personally don’t want them to change just to fit the typical american image. They’re more than that.
They are different from all those bands in US – that was one of the first reasons why I liked them in the first place.
Have you guys been reading those stupid comments on Yahoo? That’s why you’re so worried about them?
Ignore them, they’re just like those haters from allkpop, there’ll always be those kind of comments.
And when did they ever said they want to debut in the US? Maybe I missed the article or something.
General audience or not…I really couldn’t care less. If the boys like it and if Cassies like it then I don’t need anything else.
This is indeed different to me the concept doesnt go with the song and Im the type of person who cant stand when videos make no sense. For some reason when I watch it I think of final fantasy or mortal combat lol. Im not a big fan of alot of makeup on men or halters but ehh whats done is done. It’ll be fine and in case ppl have forgotten Yoochun was at one point an American citizen so Im sure he knows what to expect and maybe even informed the others. They dont have to conform to anything but would it be easier…sure…but should they…nope. They are big boys they can handle themselves. I would love to see a video for Be My Girl though its my favorite song.
Ah yes that was interesting. But I didn’t mind the triangle thing either. I guess I’ll get used to this after a while too and come to like it…..
By: pheonixia on October 31, 2010 at 7:16 am
LQ MV so I can’t really judge on the aesthetics but uhm. I kinda laughed when I saw Yoochun + is that lipstick?! Ohh…And Junsu’s white top just…Just don’t. Lol. Edgy fashion or not it’s not very flattering lol. And what happened to Jae’s neck? That necklace looked ready to choke him XD;
Otherwise, MV was okay. Not bad. Can’t wait for HQ version though~
“I kinda laughed when I saw Yoochun + is that lipstick?! Ohh…And Junsu’s white top just…Just don’t. Lol. Edgy fashion or not it’s not very flattering lol. And what happened to Jae’s neck? That necklace looked ready to choke him”
Meh… I have mixed feelings after reading the comments… You can’t really win in either situation… The Asians would bash a Westerner video while the Westerners would bash an Asian video. So, they should just do to, it’s not like they haven’t done 2 or more MVs for one song before. And just ignore the haters, they only want attention…
But Yoochun does look like a girl… I have defeended him countless times with people accusing him as a girl, but this time, I agree with themmm XD Love you Still Chunnie!…. just lose the lipstick… XD
Trudat. I think they need a new concept for the video period. Im just not into the whole Final Fantasy Tekken Twilight creation. I like Yoochuns long hair but if he is gonna rock he needs to do away with the Maybelline.
OMG LOL
I like don’t own a single article of make up, but if Yoochun was the cover of Maybelline… I would so buy some… XD Gah… he looks like a girl I can’t get over it!… grrr I love his long hair, I really, really do, but If he had a Kiss the Baby Sky, 明日は来るから (Asu Wa Kuru Kara) or Choosey Lover hair, we wouldn’t have thie problem….
By: Chantal on October 31, 2010 at 7:29 am
Mixed feeling about the mv, they can do better actually..western-ish song with triangle-like mv..its new indeed, but I don’t know whether I will like it or not
And this greedy fangirl want empty and be my girl mv!! Please jyj-nim!!!! Make my wish come true!!!!
Don’t like the song, and the MV doesn’t really help me get a better impression of it either. But that is just me. I love dbsk and i love JYJ but I prefer all the other English songs on their album to this one. Be The One is my favourite, so I would personally prefer to see an MV of that one.
It looks like FINAL FANTASY!!! that was the first thing I could think about…
Jaesu can be a new character concept square enix is exploring, jae a assassin perhaps? he looks good with the katakana,
Then su looks more like ninja/gunner/illusionist i don’t know why.
Chun definately black Mage. But him with the bike screams kadaj/cloud. But I don’t think he can hold up a buster sword with those thin arms.
I want my HQ nowwww… It’s my birthday today! Warner! Make me happy a madhappy fan!!!
That clip that they put up for the teaser makes alot more sense now. It reminds me of a mix of Tri-Angle and Survivor.
Will I think that the American public will like it? I don’t know..and frankly I don’t care. JYJ likes it; I love it (except for Su’s top >< ..gonna save my comments on Chun til the HQ) and I know alot of Cassies will share my opinion. I don't want the boys changing for ANY country's viewers. Frankly, I didn't even want a video for Ayyy Girl, but I'm thankful that I have one and I like it very much.
Besides, we missed a good chunk of the beginning of the video. We missed half of Kanye's rap, and the entire part of Malik's rap/talk/poem. Piece of why they're up in the sky can be explained there.
Why is everyone talking about the American audience when clearly their biggest fanbase still is in Asia ^^;;;???!!! And please define what is “American audience” anyway? Like Japan, the US market is diverse with so many sub-markets, each with its own followings. I’ve never dreamt of JYJ taking over the US music scene and become popular on a NATIONAL level with their very first album anyway. My only hope is that the marketing doesn’t remain this low-key forever, and those who WOULD appreciate their music get exposed to them =)
As for the MV… I don’t dig the makeups but I actually quite like everything else ^^! It’s different from what you get from kpop MVs these days, kinda cool and leaves a strong impression. It doesn’t have a storyline- I usually prefer if there is a storyline, but that’s okay for this particular song because Ayyy Girl’s lyrics are just… hahaha.
Looking forward to the HQ version and I totally hope they’ll do an MV for Empty or Be The One- I must be one of the few huge fans for Be The One, dunno why I just totally love it X-D
forget what the american audience will think! a lot of americans are ignorant and closed minded especially when it comes to all things asian. so who cares.. Asian pride people!
i dont know why, i dont want that everytime i watch their MV or read news aboiut them recently, i always read negative or complain comment. Are we their fans? of course this is not the best MV< maybe we dont like it, maybe we feel its not suitable for us market, but can we just support them? there are too many hater nowaday on jjy articles, i feel hurt. can we fnas protect them? we all know how junsu worried for this beginning album untill he have it in his hand. they do thier best already. they have a lawsuit. they have 2 ( or even more) company want to push them in to the corner. they have many anti fans who call the greedy, betrayers….can we us fans just support them?
The MV storyline like no connection all to the song TT aigoo~ but i really like the choreography ^^
Junsu looks so manly (for the 1st time in my eyes LOL)
and………… i pay too much attention to SCREAM gif of MC Yoo hahahaha xDDDD
That SCREAM gif was exactly my reaction when I saw that a MV of Ayy Girl (albeit LQ) was out. I swear I ran around my room with a Kool-Aid grin on my face as it was loading.
I don’t like that ayy girl song for the first time i heard it…
but when I see this mv….I must change my mind, micky looks hot, I like junsu wearing that outfit in this mv compare to the showcase, I dunno why but he looks good in this MV
well like others say…enjoy the music, enjoy the mv,..you like your idols right why must care what people say….ciaoo
i like this mv~~~ can’t wait to see a more clearer view~~ and i hope to see all the new beginning songs MV~~ (“v”) i really like junsu white outfit it looks so wonderful on him~~
Err~I am not digging the make up, Su look alike apron clothes, JJ necklace and Yuchun hair.
I love your airport fashion guys.
Sigh~I feel like killing the stylist.
The MV overal not so bad, the dance good but I want MV with storyline.
Pls Empty MV next~~or Be The One
I think CJes is not very good in styling their artistes, they seem to think that thick makeup is good when our boys don’t even need it. They look perfect with light make up
the more people worry about the word “gay”, the more extreme they are doing LAMO… This is so much fun & boys,I’m so loving it. this is hoooooooot ^^…waiting for HQ
Ayy Girl MV – It’s so different I love it~~! *o* It’s like some kind of movie not mere MV COOL~~! I wanna the HQ version now kekekeke
and it’s really funny how most of Cass is freaking out about this MV LOL It’s an International Album not American one and they said that their main target is Asia xDDD
Whatever they will succeed in America or not they still have us Cass and they can always try and do another album, try different things again and see if it will be more recognized in America if they really want to appeal to American audience. As long as they live they can try to no end I think, if not this year then maybe next year – they have whole life for it! ^^
So I think Cass should chill out more and actually enjoy their new and different MV and not go and write pessimistic comments that will only make some of the Cass moody again LOL
Wtf Why the hell did Jaejoong get so little screen time compared to Su and Chun?
They have on too much makeup.
Yoochuns hair look ridiculous.
WTH is up with Su’s apron looking shirt. Actually all of their outfits look ridicoulous.
The concept doesnt match the song at all.
Just who is helping them with this?
Fire them.
I dunno but I find everything to be very messy. Unorganized. All over the place.
ahhh when will the hq version be released? those fans are so lucky! first to see the mv! T-T

I love JYJ. But this is just my 2 cents XDD

but then again if thier mv n concept fitted in with any other american artist ppl will just dismissed them right. being different will make them stand out n ppl will recognize them.

Your comment gave me new perspectives. I like the MV…….what I don’t like is
Chunnie’s lipstick
Su’s halter top
ANd the fact that you can’t see JJ’s eyes in most of it……
By: pheonixia on October 31, 2010
at 4:40 am
^^You cant see JJ’s eyes bcoz its so LQ.lol~
I love Su’s halter top. I watched him live w/ that outfit so nobody can change my mind. Everyone will always have their personal preference and the majority doesnt necessarily means always right.XD~
I think they made Chun looks like vampire since its too popular nowadays.XD~
By: Stevie on October 31, 2010

I agree, we still aren’t completely sure of their strategy in the US, and this is an Asian project. I’m still not convinced their going to totally enter the US market, sure they’ll do some promo and have showcases but they still seem focused on Asia more than anything
By: maddy on October 31, 2010

By: Starfield on October 31, 2010

XXXD
By: kenoa on October 31, 2010
at 4:28 am
I would have love to see women in the video especially being that its a song called ayy girl, however even if they have girls I doesnt mean we have to see bumping and grinding, it can be done tastefully.
By: aj on October 31, 2010
at 6:10 am
Having 10 girls half naked around you doesn’t always equate to being “manly”. The song is called Ayy Girl and it would make sense to have a girl somewhere in the video. She doesn’t have to be nude or shaking her goodies every 5 seconds, it can be done in a classy way ;_;.

I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!
Please make another MV….Dear God PLEASEEEE!!!!
By: Shana Xangai on October 31, 2010
at 6:15 am

I’m not hating, I’m being honest

Why the hell can’t they consult with some people about the concept if they want to go into unknown territory? And US market is just that. It would be better if they do a PV just in casual clothes. Jeans, leather jacket, you know. Just being themselves.
By: vik720 on October 31, 2010
at 4:02 am
Hell, they don’t even need to consult with anybody, just go on youtube and watch some vids. It’s even free, youtube doesn’t ask consultation fee… It’s really budget-friendly LOL.

Instead of trying to fit in, why not do it their way.

adam lambert, tokio hotel, osbourne have a whole different kind of androygyny from kpop. u don’t hear pple saying they look like girls.

sighhhh hope for the best!!!!
By: la on October 31, 2010
at 1:25 pm
By: Stevie on October 31, 2010
at 1:55 pm
I agree with you “la”, rockstars have a concept of looking weird cuz their music skills cover up their hideous appearances. Hell, they even wear teddies in their concerts. If JYJ had been playing electric guitars, or drums, few would’ve paid much attention to their halter tops or make-up. lol
While “Stevie” is right as well. JYJ is a boyband, that too an “Asian” boyband, they’ll always be bashed around no matter what they wear.
However. the boys should’ve chosen their costumes by themselves, their dressing in this MV is downright dreadful even for their own standards=/ Plus, I’m sorry to say but Ayy Girl is not a song worth promoting, Kanye’s rap was alright, but the boys didn’t do good at all, too much autotune, notes were all haphazard and the song didn’t have a flow.=/ JYJ is capable of doing wonders, I hope the world doesn’t judge them through this single…=(

that’s what i thought as well.
By: tohoshikin on October 31, 2010

^i completely agree..it does offer a unique take..that would bring about something refreshing and set them apart..whilst not loosing sight of the identity the fans are most familiar with.. i think they will garner a lot of interest for being different and new..yet whilst there will always be that double sided perspective..of those who voice a positive or negative reaction..there will also be those who will take a keen and genuine interest..in broadening their musical listening’s..

Im not worry , its their challenge , to international market , made it or not , the attention will be ,, im sure , they will stay or not??!! , idk ?~ , but all i know , The Beginning , is really good album , this im sure of it : )
Good luck BBs <3

i am relieved that it isnt a typical hip hop video with girls in hot bands sliding on poles or in hot tubs.
i think they are doing things their own way

By: Triesse on October 31, 2010

I don’t want them to change either. But they did a whole 360 degree turn on me (in my mind)

LQ MV so I can’t really judge on the aesthetics but uhm. I kinda laughed when I saw Yoochun + is that lipstick?! Ohh…And Junsu’s white top just…Just don’t. Lol. Edgy fashion or not it’s not very flattering lol. And what happened to Jae’s neck? That necklace looked ready to choke him XD;
Otherwise, MV was okay. Not bad.
Can’t wait for HQ version though~

Meh… I have mixed feelings after reading the comments… You can’t really win in either situation… The Asians would bash a Westerner video while the Westerners would bash an Asian video. So, they should just do to, it’s not like they haven’t done 2 or more MVs for one song before. And just ignore the haters, they only want attention…
But Yoochun does look like a girl… I have defeended him countless times with people accusing him as a girl, but this time, I agree with themmm XD
Love you Still Chunnie!…. just lose the lipstick… XD

Trudat. I think they need a new concept for the video period. Im just not into the whole Final Fantasy Tekken Twilight creation. I like Yoochuns long hair but if he is gonna rock he needs to do away with the Maybelline.
By: aj on October 31, 2010
at 7:05 am

Mixed feeling about the mv, they can do better actually..western-ish song with triangle-like mv..its new indeed, but I don’t know whether I will like it or not

Don’t like the song, and the MV doesn’t really help me get a better impression of it either. But that is just me. I love dbsk and i love JYJ but I prefer all the other English songs on their album to this one. Be The One is my favourite, so I would personally prefer to see an MV of that one.

By: noriihana on October 31, 2010

It looks like FINAL FANTASY!!! that was the first thing I could think about…
Jaesu can be a new character concept square enix is exploring, jae a assassin perhaps? he looks good with the katakana,
Then su looks more like ninja/gunner/illusionist i don’t know why.
Chun definately black Mage. But him with the bike screams kadaj/cloud. But I don’t think he can hold up a buster sword with those thin arms.
I want my HQ nowwww… It’s my birthday today! Warner! Make me happy a madhappy fan!!!

Yoochun is my bias BUT…Srsly I am not liking it. The MV is OK, the song is OK BUT…
Srsly I’d better go smack Mr/Ms stylish for this?
WTH with all the make up? Red lip? Snape’s hair? OMG~~~
And what with JS’s apron? His back view?
And why did JJ appear the least?
Yoochun kzgvhkij OMfG NO!

Let’s wait and see the full MV
If you ask me I like it or not, my answer will be Yes for some parts and No for some parts.
But it’s not that I like their previous MVs LoL. So I think it’s fine except the question “Where is my JJ?” XD
By: nokaejoong on October 31, 2010
at 8:46 am

By: aj on October 31, 2010
at 11:56 am
i dont know why, i dont want that everytime i watch their MV or read news aboiut them recently, i always read negative or complain comment.
By: ..... on October 31, 2010
at 10:07 am
oh who cares what non-fans think, our boys have enough fans already, I don’t think their new target market is a bunch of racists and antis.
Their major fanbases are still in asia, so as long as we cassies unite and support them in all they do, everything will be fine. So chill.
The only thing I don’t like about the mv is that there are two people missing in it :C
looks so empty without HoMin…
By: acacia on October 31, 2010

The MV storyline like no connection all to the song TT aigoo~ but i really like the choreography ^^

JYJ deserve much better.
