Sometime last week, a video surfaced of Eric, Yunho and Kim Kang Woo training together with Incheon special forces. From this, many speculated the possibility of all three of them being cast together in an upcoming drama ‘Poseidon’.
Representatives from the actors’ management agencies spoke up and said, “It’s true that they were taking a test onsite after receiving an offer to participate in the drama, but the final casting has not been decided yet. The final casting will be decided through the results of the test and by an observation of how well they work with the rest of the team.”
Since this time, Eric and Kim Kang Woo have both been confirmed to take a role with Kim Kang Woo taking the lead. Yunho was also confirmed, but SM Entertainment retracted this and clarified by saying that nothing was finalized. Nonetheless, many people believe there is still a high probability that Yunho will also join the cast.
‘Poseidon’ is set to start airing early next year, and it is Korea’s first series about coast guards.

i am not really sad but i am increasingly concerned about homin, just like i am increasingly concerned about JYJ’s future as well. HoMin i am concerned because they have been very very silent and yeah bash me all you like if you want, but they – especially min – have not been active for like a very very very long time and although i wanna believe that it’s because they want it themselves and that something big is cooking, but I can’t help to be concerned about the way SM is managing them (especially with that many other groups to manage..).
And when Yunho’s videos practicing with the marines came out, look how fans reacted to it. granted, my bias is jaejoong and so i was disappointed as well, but even I thought that the reactions were too strong against Yunho.
I suppose that’s how things are when the fandom is split. it’s really discouraging for fans like me who used to think of them as 5 united entities to think of them in competition. X(

Er…I’m just gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are not Korean, or at least not one who has spent more than a tourist package duration in Korea. NO ONE in this country has a mind of their own, unless they run a chaebol, are related to chaebol or was CEO of a chaebol (ie: our beloved President). Even if they did have a mind, they have no power to act on it…that too is a monopoly of the chaebol. And SM Ent is much worse then chaebol because their toys are not electronics or cars but human beings.
BUT, on the off chance, Yunho got as much brains as he has looks, he will seek the advice of Eric. And if his guts likewise match his looks, he will act upon them.

Now that you put it that way, I do realise that my words could have come across as condescending toward Yunho. If so (and to you it clearly did) I apologise. That was not my intention. I sincerely convey to you that I am not belittling the intellect of Yunho or any of DBSK’s members but rather the idea that their intellect equates they have “a mind of their own…they are free to make their own decisions.”
BUT, because I know Yunho is actually very smart–his IQ is roughly 145–I commented that he should (if he is allowed) seek the advice of Eric if he is indeed cast in this drama.

to be honest nothing has ever been confirmed by the producers of the drama…they just simply throw out a few names as candidates for the drama lead….initially they throw out names like kang ji hwan and our jae as potential leads but now they changed to kim jae wook and eric instead as the final confirmation and our yunho in tentative.
i do hope that fans should be able to understand that when nothing has been confirmed, any roles arent taken by any actor yet…for fans who feel that yunho is snatching jae’s role then should ppl be bashing kim jae wook now for “stealing” kang ji hwan’s role???

Thats not completely true…The PD an screenwriter from poseidon drama send twitters saying they were waiting JJ confimed his participation in the drama, they even send fanmade pictures of JJ in guard uniforms…so you can’t said they were trhowing names…The PD and Screenwriter wanted JJ in the drama…nobody can’t denied that..but nobody can confirmed what happened nest…rumours about SM interfering, or maybe JJ rejected the role wich i dont believe he would reject that big offer…

seeing as how sm got him the role could they please give him decent acting lessons? coz really httg was just too painful to watch with the over acting and the facial contortions that not even changing/ rewriting the script and the supporting characters could save it.
and before people bash me over this, if you have watched httg you will know what i’m talking about. and yes, i know there’s such a thing as improving that’s why i’m begging sm to please give him decent acting lessons coz he has this tendency to really over act/ over contort his facial expressions to show his emotions.
i would’ve loved this more if jae had been cast in it but if yunho won the role fairly then i’m fine with it. hehe eric might be able to teach him a thing or two about staying as a group and weathering the storm that is sm TOGETHER AS A GROUP (DBSK FIGHTING!) than following in HOT’s footsteps as sm is doing to them now. (remember the good old days of JTL and what sm did to them? especially how they dropped moon hee jun like a hot potato anyone? it’s exactly what they’re doing to jaechunsu now, i just hope changmin doesn’t go the same route sm did to hee jun…) yunho-yah! listen to eric and how he kept shinhwa together!

erm… standard idol training for sm trainees include singing, dancing and acting lessons to varying degrees. the trainees sm deem suitable for acting are given more extensive acting lessons. also those idols who are debuting as actors are given more extensive acting lessons right before filming starts for their role. so yes sm cannot give yunho acting skills but they can give decent coaches or acting lessons to improve on the skills he has learned.

I actually agree with via. I love DBSK to bits, but bad acting is bad acting, and there’s way too many things I need to accomplish in a day to try to force myself watching a drama that clearly has bad acting. Yunho is a major cutie, great smile, amazing personality, but that boy cannot for the life of him NOT overact his scenes. Especially when he’s given the lead role of a drama, all the pressure is on him to act well. It’s not bashing, but it’s clearly stating it as we see it. I love DBSK because of the fact that they’re NOT afraid to admit that they’re not perfect at what they do and is ALWAYS aiming to improve. It’s only with criticisms (that aren’t made just to hurt them, but because we care for them) that they will realize their fans look forward and believe in that improvement.
I flat out refuse to be a stupid blind fangirl who can only crazily/creepily/obsessively craze over their good looks and ignore any faults they might have. They’re down-to-earth enough to know they have flaws and they work to improve it, and that’s when I go crazy happy over them.

if u are unaware about shinhwa and tvxq, the difference is shinhwa’s contract ended and tvxq’s are still ongoing…it makes a HELL BIG difference in these 2 cases.
all of the shinhwa’s contract ended with sm then they proceeded to leave sm together. the time where they fight against sm in a lawsuit is for the band name”shinhwa”….
but right now, our boys still has 8 years more of a contract….in this case its not as easy as shinhwa’s case, so why are so many of you comparing yunho with eric???
it seems to me some of the comments here are just trying to bash on yunho based on your disapproval of his decision of not taking part in the lawsuit. so you want yunho to listen to your wishes and act according to you biased fans??? oh my, and i thought sm was bad enough…you biased fans are just like sm, wanting to control and dictate somebody according to your own wishes.

SM offered Eric an individual contract but he refused to signed and left SM, because he choose his members before himself…also Eric talked with Lee Soo Man to use the name Shinhwa, there are rumours that he pay a good money for it… For me he is really a great lider, all the rest artists should learn from him.

I can’t believe everytime some type of news envolving Yunho or Changmin that is about their comeback or whatever (in this case -”for some”- taking a role that was meant for another), ir turns into a battlefield were we practically bite each other’s head off.
It’s amazing that some of you still believe HoMin are victims of SM with no opinion of their own whatsoever. YES, it’s a VERY powerful Co, but they’re big boys now, and they know what’s best for them. Whether we like it or not, whether we agree with their choice or not. It is theirs to make.
And WHY those of you who feel the way we all do, heartbroken & sad because our favourite music band (or one of them), our beloved boys, are no longer together, but blame ONE or TWO of the members for that breakup… it’s still beyond my comprehension.

1. Whether Yunho leaves SME or not is none of our business. If you’re annoyed when people say JYJ shouldn’t have left SME, then you should extend the same courtesy to Yunho and Changmin.
2. Not everything revolves around DBSK/SME drama. Eric doesn’t care whether Yunho stays or leaves. The circumstances in which Eric left SME is entirely different from JYJ leaving.
3. Rumors = rumors. But rumors have already done the damage in making what could be a very important role in Yunho’s career into something that is “ill-gotten” through SME’s manipulations. There is also the implication that Yunho couldn’t have landed the role on his own. Just stop it with the rumors because you don’t know the truth.
4. When Jaejoong, Changmin, and Yoochun landed their roles in movie and dramas, they didn’t have a very good track record in the acting department either.
