really? how is the reaction? i ask my Korean reporter friend, she said it received pretty good feedback from viewers! She told me not to worry! But I know there is always 2 kind of opinions when idols act in dramas for the first time.
the most important thing right now is its ratings… because high ratings can solve anything.

Yeah… Like you said, there was different kind of reaction:
1) - DAEBAK! He’s so natural!
- His acting is much better than I expected!
- His acting is so natural and real as if he didn’t act!
- He’s pretty! (LOL!!!)

2) - Still awkward at some points!
- Need more lessons!

SKKS is now topping all the search chart, if it can’t get high ratings, i hope it will be hot on internet like some previous idol dramas! the responses about his acting are pretty positive too from what I see, few minor complaints but good overall… but thats what I expected! even Bi was critisized when he first tried on acting… that can’t be avoided esp when you’re an idol^^
I remember when Yoochun was pronounced to be the main role, some people said “can’t they choose a real actor instead? how come an idol is able to act that difficult role?”, but I’m really happy that he took that risk^^

10% in the first ep is considered quite good for new dramas nowadays, SKKS is an idol drama so its target is for young viewers (student) but summer vacation is now ended and students have to go to school so they don’t have time to watch TT_____TT and the fact that SKKS is competing with 2 big drama Dong Yi (has about 25% ratings) and Giant (20%) doesn’t help anything, so 10% is really good for me! ^^ You know the hottest idol drama atm – My Girlfriend is a Gumiho had 11% ratings in its first ep but it still hot on the internet!
The ratings will be up at Korean sites tomorrow (the day after the ep is aired).

His acting was good, no dougt. And because we already know him so well (already biased) we are more likely to over analyze and see faults more clarely than those who don’t know him as much. So I’m happy I can say he’s good, because he’s really good.

Don’t worry about the rating girls. It’s important but the most important thing is that Chunnie has given his best.
I know what I am saying is cliche but I am used to more indie/underground artists (DBSK is the most popular act in my history and boy, how the fandom and spazzing are confusing) whom are known to limited number of people too I learn to enjoy things for their own worth, not because of rating or polls or what other people say. So cheer up babes! It may even get better later..tomorrow is another day okay!

Not really, in Japan 11% is considered mediocre (I remember this because the korean drama Iris had the same ratings and the japanese and korean critics were saying that it flopped)
JJ’s drama was just average at it’s best.
Whatever it was that makes 3 people and counting, hopefully Yoochun’s drama will get better but if it doesn’t I hope they choose a better project next time or even better, how about doing what you do best, SING.

mediocre is Kame’s recently drama Perfect Girl Evolution 8.22% rating LOL
The viewer ratings for IRIS of the first episode was 10.1% and the next episodes were aprox. around 8% of viewer ratings. They said it flopped because they expected more especially when they put alot money on this drama, A++ List korean actors names and was recorded in different countries, of course they expected the best.
JJ was only supporting actor. So he didn’t carried big responsability of SNN drama, that is the job of the lead actors.

it’ll be interesting to know how hyunjoong’s drama ratings will be, i have a concept,having idols acting will be likened to japans and taiwan’s idol series, it’s just the fast moving episodes, targetting at a certain market segment…. i have always wondered why korea didn’t embark in this area with their many idol groups. just a thought from my end……
